Project proposal for the requalification of an area under the Donnersberger Bridge:
The project was presented to the local district in two phases in 2020.
It aims to requalify an anonymous area of around 1,000 square meters under the Donnersbergerbrücke bridge, which is currently used as a parking lot, and make it more usable for the people.
Supported by: Greencityev, Performance in Lighting, Hoch Statik.

The area beneath the Donnersbergerbrücke is often criticised for poor air quality, yet remains used as a Park & Ride facility, directly contributing to pollution.
While residents see their surface parking reduced and are pushed to use underground garages, these areas remain easily accessible to commuters from outside the city. A contradiction that raises questions about the consistency of current urban strategies.
A gradual implementation could offer a balanced way forward:
• Clearing of the area
• Urban greenery and lighting improvements
• Introduction of functions for public use
A stepwise urban transformation allows better integration into existing dynamics and local needs.
—
Due to a new road project for the bridge itself, the project will be eventually reconsidered in a future phase.
